6 Stirring Paintings of a Girl Who Braves Winter With a Red Umbrella

Rachael sits on curb holding painting A Lonely Walk

One of my very first paintings was of a girl walking in a snow-covered forest holding a red umbrella. Compared to the overbearing stark black trees in the painting, she was tiny and so was her umbrella.

I named my first red umbrella painting A Lonely Walk, and I am holding it in the photo above.

The collector who purchased my first red umbrella painting was overwhelmingly in love with it. In addition, I received feedback from many persons telling me how much they loved A Lonely Walk. So, I decided to create a series of paintings showcasing my red umbrella and a cold setting.

What My Red Umbrella Paintings Signify

We all feel alone, and even lonely, at different times in our lives. During these cold parts of our lives, we still have reason to hope. Why is that? Because whatever we are feeling, there is someone that has felt or feels just as we do in that moment. None of us is really alone. We are simply human beings having a human experience. In each of my red umbrella paintings, the umbrella signifies hope.

How A Collector Feels About My Red Umbrella Paintings

I own 8 pieces by Rachael. I immediately felt that her paintings spoke to me. A few of her paintings make me feel hopeful, peaceful, and pensive. Especially moving is her red umbrella series. The series reminds me that we all walk alone at some point in our lives, and how she expresses this feeling with the use of winter scenes and red umbrellas stirs me. She is deeply mindful of her emotions and her paintings help me to be mindful of mine. — Steve H, Florida USA
