Artist's Statement
A common experience in Florida is to visit the dunes and find wild grass and flowers growing in white sand along with sparse, succulent-like, low-to-the-ground green viny plants.
Whilte it's a beautiful scene, the intensity of the sun can cause a visible haze that is blinding and almost paralyzing. That's the feeling I'm trying to capture in this painting by exaggerating the size of the sun and allowing the sky a white, somewhat blinding effect.
